In the business of direct sales, when you’re out of bookings you’re out of business.  Everything in direct sales is related to bookings - how much money you make, what company incentives you earn, the number of recruits you have.  Bookings truly are the life-blood of your business.

To know how to get bookings you need to understand why people book presentations.

THE TOP TWO REASONS ARE:

1.  TO HAVE FUN

2.  TO LEARN SOMETHING

Let’s talk about learning something.  Take a serious look at your product line and determine how you can inform people about them.

People want to know how they can use the product.  They also want to know, how else can they use this product?  What are some unique, not so obvious, ways to use the proudct?  Can the cream for the face be used for diaper rash?  Can the kitchen tool be used when wallpapering?  Can the necklace be used as a belt?  Can the pajama top be combined with shorts and worn in public?  Besides the obvious - how else can the product be used?

How can the guest use your items in combination with what they already own?

Look over your product line again.  This time consider what the guest may already own.  Does this pair of gold earings you’re selling look great with any gold necklace?  Is the picture enhanced by any shelf to form a grouping?  Does this suppliment increase the results of the exercise program?

By looking at your products and considering:

How else can they be used?

How can they be used with what the guest already has?

You are providing your guests with ideas and the opportunity to learn something.  When your hostess tells her potential guest “She gives you so many ideas!” that increases the number of people at your presentation.  The more people - the more opportunities for you to book future presentations.
